A $117.5M settlement will resolve claims that Yahoo failed to encrypt its accountholders’ personal data information. The class-action alleged that Yahoo needs to be responsible for the data breach security incidents that occurred several times between 2012 and 2016, which led to over 500 million account holders’ personal information being exposed.
Class members who had a Yahoo account between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2016 or who were sent a notice concerning the Data Breaches announced in 2016 and/or 2017.
